Physical Activity and Daily Symptom Reporting in Peri-Menopausal Women: A Feasibility Study

The primary objective of this application is to test the feasibility of a study examining the relationships among daily symptom reporting, affective experiences, perceived control, and physical activity in peri-menopausal women.

Gender and Patterns of Disease, Disability, and Death

This project will analyze gender differences in the patterns of diagnosed diseases and conditions, and disabilities, from medical records and data from nurse-administered in-person data collections of a sample of unlike-sex older twins living in Sweden. Death records will also be analyzed.

Application of Time Series Modeling Techniques for Optimal Control of Asthmatic Symptoms at the Person-Specific Level

This project will apply time series and control modeling techniques to determine continuous optimal medication therapy for patients with asthma, with the proximate goal to keep each patient free of disease symptoms and with the ultimate goal of maintaining healthy lung functioning.

Gender Differences in Health and Health Behavior in Old Age

This project will collect follow-up health and health-related behavior data via questionnaire from the original Unlike-Sex Twin Sample (N=605 pairs assessed via questionnaire in 1994) who are still alive.

This project has collected time series data on subjects with type 1 diabetes looking at medication use, continuous glucose level, diet, activity, and mood. The project will apply control modeling techniques to determine the requirements for optimal control of glucose level at the person-specific level.
